A chicken barbecue fundraiser is planned for Wednesday to help a local boy as he continues to struggle with the medical condition Chiari Malformation Type 1. The barbecue and raffles will benefit Alex Mattei, 6, who has already undergone 11 surgeries and faces his 12th this week. The barbecue starts at 3 p.m. in Lafayette Park on Main Street and will continue until the dinners are gone.
